Dry feet! What luxury
This is my second pair of Shoreline Boots. The first were borrowed, abused and returned to me with leaks just above the thicker transition on the front. I sealed the leaks and lent them out again, knowing my feet would be dry in my new ones. They are great for around camp and launching the kayak and great for paddling in when I'm not wearing a dry suit.
Perfect shoulder season paddling footwear!
These boots were ideal for our five day autumn canoe trip. We didn’t want to have to change our footwear while getting in and out of the boat and we also didn’t like the idea of our feet being wet-but-warm as they would have been in most neoprene booties or socks. These kept our feet warm and dry on cold days and weren’t too hot even on sunny days of 20C weather. Two of the best features are 1) the height of the boots which allows you to walk your boat to shore even in deeper water and 2) the flexibility of the rubber allowing you to change your position in the canoe (I paddle most on a single or both knees). Most rubber boots would be far too stiff to allow these positions. Both my husband and I wore the men’s shoreline boots on our last trip and did many kms of portages in them over both rocks and roots without a single slip. As a note, though, they do not provide much if any ankle support if you do slip, but we realized this when we signed up to wear rubber boots. My only criticism is that we had to purchase a size larger than our staple sizes as the boots fit about half a size small. In fact I got mine two sizes larger so that I could fit multiple socks in them. To make them snug without extra socks I added an extra reflective insole under the provided one. I highly recommend Shoreline Boots for any paddler venturing out in the spring or fall.
Great for canoe trips!!
I have had the womens' Shoreline boot for 2 years and it is the best rubber boot I’ve owned. I need them for canoe trips , for wet portages, and for getting in and out of the boat in deeper water. These boots feel snug and comfortable, have never hurt my feet, even on very slippery 2 km portages. They are totally water tight, maybe because they do not have the seams that other boots have that always open and leak after a year or two. They also, amazingly, do not get smelly, even after wearing them on a week long , wet canoe trip. They pack small and light. A great boot!! I have now ordered them for two other family members and recommend them to anyone who needs to have rubber boots that are super comfortable, light, and waterproof.
Favourite gumboot ever!
I love this boot. Grippy, flexible, durable, you can roll it down for 2/3 size, can stuff it into your kayak hatch with ease. This is my second pair. Gray instead of brown this time. Pink, lavender, fushia, black, orange, I don't care, I'll get whatever is available when I need another pair.
Men’s shoreline boot.
Sizing is not correct.... too small... I ordered Men’s size 11. And they are slightly too small for my feet even though I always wear size 11. The boots themselves are great. The charcoal grey is lighter colour than I expected it to be from the photo on the website. I am concerned of their durability over time. They feel very lightweight and thin, so will see how they go after a long season paddling on the rocky BC coast. One sharp seashell or barnacle and I fear they might be sliced open. Overall they feel great, very easy to get in and out of the kayak wearing these soft bendable boots.
