New Level 6 Odin vs Kokatat
I have used my new Level six drysuit 3 times. It has been a good experience so far. Some things about the suit I definitely prefer over the Kokatat. One minor concern I have is that it seems to be a little restrictive in the crotch area. I am wondering if it will impede self rescues. I haven’t done a full wet exit or a roll in the suit yet, but will be testing that tomorrow. If I stay nice and dry after that test, I was say I like the Level 6 very much. Kokatat drysuits are known for their durability and warranty, and my hope is that my new Level 6 will be just as reliable.
Odin Dry Suit
I generally hate Latex collars preferring neoprene and a small amount of leakage. That said collar is reasonably comfortable out of the box. So far has been watertight, but you have to be sure zippers are fully closed. Will keep you dry but to stay warm in really cold water you will also need a thermal layer underneath. Seems very well made and even with a bit of arthritis in one shoulder I have no problem getting in and out without assistance.
The Odin is very comfortable, so much that I almost forget I have it on. Plenty of flexibility in the chest and shoulders for unhindered movement. Oh, did I mention that it looks amazing??? At 5'10" and 195lb the Large is too big for me.
